Red-footed Falcon sightings inspring 2025
The Red-footed Falcon Falco vespertinus is a migratory bird of prey that winters in Africa and nests from Italy to Russia. It nests very occasionally in France.
However, the species is regularly seen in spring, between April and June, with a peak in the 2nd week of May. In 2025, this influx seems to be a little earlier than usual. The recent sighting in the Manche is noteworthy, as the bird is usually seen in the south-east.
The falcon usually reappears in September, sometimes in large numbers, as in 2024.
