Autumn migration of the Aquatic Warbler in 2020

The Aquatic Warbler Acrocephalus paludicola is only present in France during auttumn migration time. It breeds in Eastern Europe and winters in few places in Senegal, Mali and Mauritania. With 10-15.000 breeding pairs, the Aquatic Warbler world population is globally threatened and still declining.

The whole world population seems to migrate through France along the Channel and along the Atlantic coast between August and early September. Therefore, France has a particular responsibility in the conservation of the Aquatic Warbler.
