Distribution of the Rosalia alpina in 2019-2023

The Alpine Rosalia Rosalia alpina is a cerambycid beetle (longhorned beetle) protected at the European level and considered a priority for conservation.

It can be observed in mountain forests, especially in beech-fir forests, but most of the data come from lowland forests. The species is quite common in the ash woods of the Centre-Ouest for example.

This bluish species, of big size, spotted with black, cannot be confused with another species. It emerges at the end of May and can be observed until August.
