Distribution of the Yellow_winged Darter from 2022 to 2024

The Yellow-Winged Darter Sympetrum flaeolum is a Eurosiberian dragonfly whose range is shrinking in France, probably as a result of global warming. It is now only found in mountainous areas and a few points in the far north of France.

This dragonfly mainly frequents the vegetated margins of lakes and ponds, peat bogs and temporary waterholes. It can be very abundant there and, after the mass emergence phases, many individuals disperse as far as the plains, sometimes at great distance from their regions of origin.
